West Chester University, M.S. Sport and Athletic Administration; B.S. Physical Education
Some people think of physical education as "gym," a time when the "real teachers" can plan. I think of it as a critical piece in a child's development. Physical education provides students the opportunity not only to develop physical skills and a positive attitude towards staying healthy but, just as critically, the social skills they’ll need throughout their lives. Businesses today spend millions of dollars on courses to develop teamwork, cultural diversity and conflict resolution into their work force. What better place to start to develop those skills than when a young person is involved in physical education, intramurals and sports.
