William Woods University, B.S. Elementary Education
Building a teacher/student relationship is a significant part of teaching for me. In my many years at the Academy, I’ve seen students grow, change, and reap the benefits of this most important dynamic. This relationship plays a particularly key role in helping our fifth/sixth graders transition into the middle school years. Our unique fifth/sixth grade suite allows students to get the feel of what’s to come, while benefiting from the security of those last elementary school classrooms. We’re able to both challenge and nurture, a powerful combination. Working closely with Academy families, giving students a chance to get out into the world, and sharing engaging classroom experiences are all a part of how I hope to help create adults who will not only share the knowledge they gain from us, but continue to be lifelong learners.
