I believe every child can learn and wants to learn. The optimal conditions for learning include a balance of routine and novelty. Students must feel secure, but also need to be stimulated and challenged to rise to the next level of their learning. Above all, they need to feel that their teachers care for them personally and always have their best interests at heart. Then they will rise to meet the expectations set for them. It is the teacher’s responsibility to set high expectations for every student. It is also the responsibility of the teacher to develop a relationship with each student, to know where they are academically, and to help them move forward. I consider it an honor and a privilege to work in the teaching profession.
